The Pre-Surtex World

Doesn’t allow for much blogging or excitement.
For example, this is the gem I managed this week:In very happy news:

  • Spring is gorgeous.
  • Spring cleaning is almost done! (Thanks to the clearing clutter fairy, who came for a visit and managed to fix my life. Thanks mom.)
  • I have Cinco De Mayo’d out
  • My elusive robot drawings have resurfaced! Again, clutter be gone!
  • I have almost finished answering the plethora of emails that flood my inbox every Spring from graduating high school students begging me for advice.
  • Other than a taco party on a roof in Park Slope this weekend, and my normal brunching situation, it looks like I’ll have nothing to tempt me from non-Surtex-like activity. YESSSS!

  1. I wish I could help you set up again this year! 😦 I am also jealous of your Cinco de Mayo festivities. No one here even knows what it is. And it's certainly not warm enough for an ourdoor party…sigh…
p.s. I can't believe you didn't mention your swedish adventure!!!

  2. YOur sketch is beautiful! I soooooooooo need to declutter/spring clean. But quite frankly, I am scared to start lol. Where to start? Eeeeep!

  3. Oh Rachel, I know! How could I forget to mention my trip to Sweden!? I miss you.

Dawn, The de-cluttering was almost spiritual. Everything in life is sooo much better. I just started at the beginning and took things and said 'keep it' or 'lose it'? We donated more than 6 boxes of stuff to the Goodwill and now I live like someone from Better Homes and Gardens!

Ben, I like your style too 😉

#summerchores This one goes out to @jenmorello 😘
#onlyinnyc Reuniting my husband with this one million year-old pup was a highlight on our banner blink-and-you'll miss it trip home. Brooklyn, we'll miss you forever. Thanks @kymberella281 & @peckelmann you made this guy's weekend. Today has been crap, but now it is beautiful. #gofigure Kisses!
Nature My husband is the dreamiest. I'm pretty limited in what I can eat these days. We've sidelined dairy, gluten and legumes to help with my auto-immune diseases. There was something particularly tempting while we were in Park City this weekend. It boasted its delicious lime salt loudly. Alas, it wasn't anything I could eat. I lamented and went GF/DF etcF, and then quickly forgot about it. As with most things that cause me fleeting disappointment, Matt remembered. Last night when I got home from the studio, I found this little bottle waiting for me on the counter. He made it himself. #limesalt #love #chefwifelife Dragon swimming in a bathtub. We adopted this dishy-fishy in Mexico during the #happilyeveralvarez wedding week of dreams. There are few worldly possessions that bring me as much joy. 🌈🌈#mood #nofilter
