One of the best parts of my new studio is walking down the hallway to ask my dad if I can have a roll of paper towels, or a tube of paint, or an opinion on a new illustration. After I left Hawaii for New York I never thought we’d be studio mates again. It’s thrilling to have graduated beyond apprentice and to live side by side as professionals. We’re both speeding up our art life while slowing down in Utah. It’s something I’d never expect to want and something I’ll always be grateful for.
